1° Tenente (Italian, literally: First Lieutenant, also called Primo Tenente) is the lowest Axis Italian CO rank. It was first used in ViE#3, in the 3-RB. This rank is used for squad leaders at an early stage of their career.

Position in the Chain of Command

1° Tenente is classified as OF-1 in the NATO System and Squad Leader, Lower Grade (13) in Ewok's rank classification system. It is the lowest rank on CO level. The next lower rank is the CO Cadet rank of Tenente on the CO career path and the NCO rank of Maresciallo Maggiore on the NCO career path. The next higher rank is the CO rank of Capitano.
