Battleday

From Victory In Europe

Jump to: navigation, search

A battleday is comprised of two battles and a break. In ViE, battles take place on Wednesday and Saturday. These days are referred to as battledays. Each campaign has a predeterminded number of battledays and thus battles. A battleday lasts currently (as of ViE#1) lasts for 10 hours and 30 minutes, featuring two 5-hour battles and a 30 minutes-long break inbetween. The battleday starts at 16:30 GMT and ends on 3:00 GMT (as of ViE#1).

Relevance

The battleday has no explicit relevance in the tournament rules apart from that, for example, winning a battleday means nothing but that the victor has won two battles, however, stats and medals are often making references to battledays.

Terms

Sometimes battleday is shortened to battle, which is confusing, as each battleday consists of multiple battles.

The first battle taking place on a battleday is called Battle#1 and subsequently the second is called Battle#2.

All battledays in a week (usually two) form a battleweek, though this term is very rarely used, as it has no significance for the tournament.

Trivia

  • While for players in the North American timezones, each battle day really takes place on a single day, European players play on two different days if they play a full battleday, that is Wednesday/Thursday and Saturday/Sunday respectively.
