CO Cadet
From Victory In Europe
CO Cadets are a special branch of ranks on the Axis Army. Currently there are two CO Cadet ranks, Fähnrich zur See and Oberfähnrich zur See, who are ranked on par with the "normal" NCO ranks of Bootsmann and Stabsbootsmann respectively.
The difference between NCOs and CO Cadets is that the latter are specially trained to be COs in the following campaign and are promised a low-level CO spot in case they do a good job as cadets. Because of that, there is only a handful of CO Cadets each campaign.
CO Cadets were introduced by Admiral Ewok for the 2-KF in ViE#2.
The idea was further developed in ViE#3, when Ewok and Moondogg decided to implement further CO Cadet ranks at soldier level, thus creating a whole CO career path from Soldier to CinC for the 3-RB and future Axis divisions.

Ranks
So far only the 2-KF and the 3-RB made use of CO Cadet ranks. Future Axis divisions are expected to follow this example. Wheter and when the Allies will follow is unknown.
The [2-KF] used only two Cadet ranks, while the [3-RB] already used four. Further ranks are planned for future German divisions.

The CO Cadet ranks did not exist in ViE#1.
ViE#2
Before the campaign started, Ewok and Moondogg had recruited four CO Cadets:
They all showed great dedication and skill, thus the CO Cadet program can be called a success. Bad Haggis even made it to CO before the campaign had ended, as he replaced Yellowledbetter as GN leader after the 9th battleday.
