The Dai-Nippon Teikoku Rikugun (or Imperial Japanese Army as known in English) is the Axis division of ViE#12 and ViE#13. Its tag is [DTR] and the army's history is described below. It was commanded by Taisho Fantomet, who was appointed by Takushiro and CinC Barake. The DTR were fighting against the Polish 3 Dywizja Strzelców Karpackich, in ViE12 and the 2nd Australian Imperial Force in ViE13. Structures for both campaigns are outlined and much of the staff stayed intact after the re-roll took effect with modified bidding rules different from campaigns prior to ViE 12. Taisho Fantomet opted to keep his division for the duration of ViE 13. This army marks the second time ever in ViE that Japan has been represented in battle, with the first being from ViE#7 with the Kamikaze Navy and Airforce.

Structure
High command was Takushiro/CinC Barake and Taisho Fantomet as the divisional commander for both campaigns. Staff COs were Shosaa Davoli as promotions officer for ViE 12 and Taisa Jem in ViE 13; Taisa ahh! was the medals officer for both campaigns; and Taii Cobra worked on intelligence for ViE 12 and was later succeeded by Shosaa Wrangler. Chui Sancho served as the cadet in both campaigns.
Divisional structure remained the same throughout both campaigns even with staff changes. Staff were permitted to stay on for ViE #13 if they wished to in being able to learn their positions after the conclusion of a 5-day ViE #12.
The Imperial Japanese Army had 3 squads:
1. 124th Infantry Regiment, Ryuujin "Dragon Gods"
This was the Auto and Special Weapon squad, led by Taii Kraut_Killer in ViE 12 and both he and later Taii KILTy in ViE 13.
2. 114th Infantry Regiment, Kukuhei-dan
This was the Rifle squad, led by Taisa PaddyPower in ViE 12 and Shosaa Moreland in ViE 13.
3. 89th Infantry Regiment, Yamahei-dan
This was the Elite squad, led by Taii Jem in ViE 12 and Shosaa Snowman in ViE 13.
History
The Japanese forces where originally Samurai clans who where loyal to the emperor, and rented their service solely to him. Thanks to their intense training in Marshall Arts they became very useful guards and tax collectors. Since they where the only once who where allowed to carry arms, most people where just terrified by there presence and paid up what hey had. More and more, local clan leaders took over as majors in big cities and raised the taxes so high that most of the locals had to sell their farms and properties.
When Emperor Meiji came to power, he removed the samurai's right to be the only armored force in favor of a modern, western style army. The Samurai became Shizoku who retained the Samurai lifestyle, but their right to wear a Katana Sword in public was removed along with the right to execute commoners who paid them disrespect.
During the Meiji reforms in the late 19th century, the Samurai vanished completely and a western style army was established, The Imperial Japanese Army. But many Samurai's volunteered to be soldiers and many advanced to be trained as officers. Most of the Imperial Army officer class was of Samurai origin and they where highly motivated, disciplined and exceptionally trained.
During World War 2, the IJA had a total of 51 Divisions with 1.700.000 men. Throughout the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War II, the Imperial Japanese Army had gained a reputation both for its fanaticism and for its brutality against prisoners of war and civilians alike.
