Lonewolf
From Victory In Europe
I've been playing Day of Defeat since 2003, and have been playing DoD:Source since it was released. I used to be part of the BFE campaign and managed to get established enough to have an important role in the running and set-up of the Victory in Europe tournament.

ViE Career
I was first invited to join in ViE by Moondogg in the period of fall for the former tournament Battle for Europe. It wasn't long after I joined that I was asked to be the first General for the first ViE Campaign, and I jumped at the chance to be able to run my own Division under Redfalcon as CinC. IT was a successful campaign and the Axis Army manage to grab a victorious campaign.
I was then promoted to CinC by redfalcon for Campaign 2 of ViE and I chose Ewok a former TA, whom I knew to be an eager axis player to be my General. He gratefully accepted and together we managed to lead the Axis to victory once more.
For the third campaign of ViE, due to the up or out rule I had to return to being a Grunt as I'd reached the highest I could get, however, this was a welcome opportunity after having been a CO since the beginning of ViE and a few campaigns in BFE to have a break and finally concentrate on eltting other do all the hard work! I'd chosen Ewok to succeed me as the next CinC for ViE #3 after having done a great job as General previously. He then chose Moondogg to be his General and we fought a victorious campaign once again as the first Italian Division of ViE.
The 4th Campaign was slightly different with the introduction of randomization meaning you couldn't pick a team, but were assigned, this was to try to achieve balanced Divisions to try and make the tournament slightly more interesting, it was also the first campaign in which weapon limits were introduced, over which there was some controversy. I again was also a grunt, and low and behold... I was assigned to the axis! DeadlyFreud was our new CinC with Kamikaze getting a well deserved General position. The campaign started out well, although a little too even, with no team winning an attack for a few battle days.

Gaming Biography
I first started playing Day of Defeat about 3 years ago, and I loved it from the first time I played it. I joined a clan so that I could start playing competitively and stayed with them for more than 2 years. It was through 2 of my clan mates that I got introduced to the Battle For Europe Day of Defeat Tournament. I continued to play with both but regretfully had to leave my clan due to inactivity within it and the lack of time I had available to commit to it.
I have played in Battle for Europe tournaments for about 6 campaigns in which I started off as a grunt and worked my way up. My first real division was an allied division and I stuck to allies for a few campaigns. I got invited to be an Officer for the Axis Division where I remained until BFE collapsed and I got invited to join ViE. Since joining the community I have been asked to be the first ViE Axis General as I said earlier and is the current stage from which I am writing this article.
(June 06)
Now entering my fourth successive ViE Campaign. I served the second as the Axis CinC, accompanied by Ewok as my General or Admiral as it was an Axis Navy Divison. I had a blast doing it and was honored to have had the chance to do so. The third campaign I played as a grunt for the first time since around BFE21, it was good to finally be able to play with no strings attached, as fun as being an officer may have been. It also gave me a chance to focus on my sniping again, not having to worry about giving orders, and soon building up a name for myself as a sniper. Entering the fourth campaign, I think I will stay as a grunt again, however, considering the possibility of an NCO position if my Commanding Officers feel they need my assistance.

Real-Life Background
I'm currently (2006) studying my A-Levels at college and I am about half way through to completeing them. I'm interested in many subjects although I am taking exams in mainly sciences and maths. After I leave College, I am planning to apply to University where I hope to be able to get a degree in Chemistry.
I live in the South of the UK on a city called Portsmouth and have lived here all my life. I have family all over the UK even as far as Yorkshire. I also have quite a lot of family that live in Toronto in Canada.
(June 06)
I've only half a term left until I take my final exams before University. I've been accepted at Bristol and Southampton Universities to study Chemistry. I went for an interview at Cambridge University which was interesting and a worthwhile experience, unfortunately, I didn't get offered a space.
I'll be sailing in the Tall Ships Race this July which starts in Aarhus, Denmark and it is an 8/10 day non-stop sail through the Baltic Sea over to Kotka, Finland. It should be a completely fantastic experience and I look forward to it a lot.

Playing Style
I have never liked to stick to any particular class or playing style as I always like to try out everything and give it a go. I do enjoy playing DoD Source with the Sniper Rifle, but that class is in high demand these days, so it can be a rarity. I'm pretty handy with the kar and STG alike. One class I can honestly say that I am not good in is the Bazooka. I'm always a team player and cant stand it when people wont work with each other, so i usually do whats best for the team, whether it be to try and fullcap a map, take out snipers/MGs or just sit back and camp. I'm almost suited to all classes, although because of this, I'm not quite as skilled as someone who specialises in one particular class.
